Savannah

1st of april, no joke ;)

Driving day... we started at Wilmington, 320 miles to go, to Savannah (Georgia).
We just skipped South Carolina, just made a quick stop at a very nice lake, lunch time.
After lunch and a small geocaching excursion we continued to Savannah.

We arrived at our hotel, the days inn at about 5 pm.
Sunny, 80°F (27°C), a nice hotel, an outdoor swimming pool.

We just jumped in the water after bringing our luggage to our room.

2nd of April - We got up at 6:30 to get breakfast which was only till 9... we went back to bed after that ^^

We got up at 10 and left the hotel at about 10:30 towards Fort Polaski, an old fort with lots of cannons in a beautiful landscape.

We walked around and took some pictures... it was really hot, about 88°F (31°C) ... summertime ^^

The wall you can see in the picture was attacked from a distance of about 1 mile (~1.6 km).

After visiting the fort we moved on to the historic district of Savannah.
Our hosts always said: you have to go to Savannah, you will like it. Yes, we like it, Savannah is a very nice town.
There is a small park every 2 blocks, each with its own small or large monument, different trees and even a fragant garden.

A group of cheerleaders trained at this stage, which looks really nice in all the green from the trees and the blue of the sky.

We liked Savannah, the people are friendly, the weather was perfect and if they ask you for a plus card in the supermarket, the best answer is: "no, we haven't, do you have one?" so you get the discount even without a card.
That's the way we saved 9 dollars on a purchase of 45 dollars...
That's what he said

coming up:

- Posts will be shorter now, only containing 1 town / city
- Savannah to Daytona Beach
- Daytona Beach
- Orlando (Universal Studios)
- Miami & Miami Beach
