Frankfurt, Plane, Boston & Niagara Falls

The 11th or March, the very first day on our 3 month trip through the United States.
After a 6 hour train travelling Daniel and I met in Frankfurt.
We checked in our hotel, next to the airport, then we went to the city to visit the maintower. It is a great view all over the city when standing on this 200 meter building

On 12th of March it started getting serious, we took our plane from Frankfurt to Iceland with a delay of almost 30 minutes, the pilot just said "well, we have to fly a little faster"

In Iceland we just switched planes, we were to Iceland for about 20 minutes. We went from Iceland to Boston, MA, United States.

After we passed the security checks we finally made it, we were in the United States.
We grabbed our rental car and tried to drive to our first hotel, which is not that easy without any knowledge how the foreign traffic works, but finally we made it, the red roof inn in Woburn, MA, 20 miles to Boston.

In the evening we went to a mexican restaurant which was close to our hotel, the food was really good. :)

On the 13th of March we went to the city and visited an old naval base and a ship where got a very good impression what life at the open sea was like.

After that we walked the freedom trail, a historic trail all through the city, which is about 5 miles in lenght.
We visited all that historic places you can see in Boston, and its wonderful park. And we bought a phone card in Boston, so we had an american cellphone number :)
In the evening we went out to find our first american geocache.

On the 14th of March we grabbed our luggage and started an all day long driving day.
We wanted to stay in Syracuse but our couchsurfing host never responded to my messages, so we decided to go on to Buffalo. It was quite a long trip, 6 hours I think, we entered the state of New York.
When we arrived in Buffalo we had no hotel or anything for the night, so we called a hotel reservation hotline.
In the evening we went to our next red roof inn. We went out in the nearby area to see what we can find... found a geocache and a cheaper hotel, we reserved it for the next day.

On the 15th of March we made our way to one of our top sights on the list: Niagara Falls

First we visited the US Side:

After that we visited the canadian side:

The Falls are illuminated during the nighttime, which looks really amazing.

The colors are changing every few minutes, so you can take a ew very nice pictures.

Next part -> next Post: Buffalo, Bath (Finger lakes Wine region), Corning, Scranton
